New Release: Dirt Nap, a Marnie Baranuik “Between the Files” Story

Another Marnie Baranuik “Between The Files” short story is dropping just in time for Hallowe’en, my pretties. Go ahead and dirty your Kindle on Monday, October 21, 2013! It’s a fun little romp with some of your favourite characters, perfect for a one-evening read or a trip on the train. If you like epic fails and big ol’ dirt monsters (what kinda whackadoodle doesn’t?) then you’ve gotta get Dirt Nap! I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it.

Jail probably would have been a better place to spend a Thursday afternoon, but when a preternatural expert is needed, there’s no one else who can fill Marnie Baranuik’s Keds. Beset by a rampaging stone monster and a furious quarry owner, trapped between a rock and a hard-ass, Marnie faces her biggest challenge yet, and discovers once and for all if size really does matter.

(Editor’s note: A.J. Aalto is hard at work on the third instalment to the Marnie Baranuik Files, if by “hard at work” you mean lurking in graveyards, eating all the Hallowe’en candy, and lookin’ for trouble.)

Happened across Touched on iTunes 5 days ago and just finished Death Rejoices, and I have since purchased all available downloads by AJ Aalto. I have not enjoyed a series this much in years. I love Marnie’s character. She’s refreshing and hysterical. I hope the author continues to create more, her writing style is highly entertaining. I literally laugh out loud reading her stories. I don’t know what else to say but keep them coming!

Also, I pray there is never a final book in this series lol. I can’t get enough, and I finish them way to fast; leaving myself craving more.

When is the third installment of the Marnie series may be available?

  4. Mop says:

    Thank you!
Just finished reading Dirt Nap and was (only slightly) surprised to find Marnie can function (relatively speaking) without Harry jammed up her ass. I LIKE Harry. I mean, how can anyone NOT like him, but it was pretty cool to see her have to depend on a humanoid for some backup for a change.

I downloaded Touched on my Kindle months ago because it was free and seemed interesting. I just started reading it last week(as I wait for another book to arrive by mail) and couldn’t put it down. When I finished on Friday I immediately checked Amazon to see if there were more, needless to say I downloaded/bought the other three available and am halfway through 2. I’m so glad I found this series. As a forensics nerd myself Marnie’s reactions to many things just leave me a giggling mess. I look forward to more from you!

Any plans to put these “Between the Files” stories on paper?

I love Marnie and her stories … your books are the only ones that are auto buy/get for me. (btw, I am a huge cheap ass)
I wish you could write a lot more!
