Appearances
*NEW* Sunday, August 27th, 2017, from 12-4 pm
I’ll be at Chapters, St. Catharines, Ontario (Canada), signing books from 12-4. I’ll have copies of each of the Marnie Baranuik Files books, including the newest release (Blightmare), and I will also be signing copies of my first psychological thriller, Closet Full Of Bones. Come see me and have a chat.
May 2013
With the release of “Death Rejoices, Book 2 of the Marnie Baranuik Files,” I will be invading Chapters St. Catharines in the Fairview Mall for another book signing in early May. When I have an exact date, I will post it ASAP. I will be signing copies of “Touched” and “Death Rejoices,” picking pockets to steal small change, and kissing clowns on the mouth. Only one of those things is a lie. Anyhoo, if you’re in the area, come see me and <brace for shameless self-promo> buy my newest book…or else I’ll do my You’re-In-Big-Trouble point. Nobody wants that.
October 2012
October 20, 2012 From 7-10 PM at Nightmares Fear Factory on Victoria Avenue in Niagara Falls, Canada. Celebrated the relaunch of Touched, Book One of the Marnie Baranuik Files at this world-renowned haunted house attraction.
October 28, 2012 Unfortunately, my appearance/ signing at Stonechurch Vineyards has been cancelled due to circumstances out of my control. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t pretty bummed about it, so I’m going to do a private reading & wine tasting instead (me and a mirror; as an introvert, that’s really more my speed) with a few bottles of their awesome ’07 Riesling-Gewurztraminer blend.
June, 2012
I have been invited to attend a writers & wine series at (Hush Hush) Vineyards in the fall. I will keep the name a secret until details are firmed up. Everything is still in the planning stages, but it sounds like a hoot: wine, nibbles–of the food variety, I’m probably not gonna chew on people–and a *gulp* reading. Uh hunh. Now, those of you who have read Touched know: there are, um, y’know … adult parts. Like, um, all of it? So finding a passage to read aloud to an audience might be tricky. Solution? Yes! But I’m going to keep that (Hush Hush) as well, for now. Afterward, I may do a question/answer dealio, some mingling and signings. It looks like this may happen in October 2012, near Halloween, which could also coincide with my release of Death Rejoices, the second book in The Marnie Baranuik Files. When things are penciled-in, I will update!
October, 2011 Guess who’s doing some BOOK SIGNINGS?! *jacks her thumbs at herself* Now guess who’s experiencing a heady goulash of cold-cocking terror and industrial-strength bliss about it? *jacks her thumbs at herself*
Last question: Guess who’s gonna quell her giddy theatrics and pull off these signings with grace, poise and dignity? *snort-chortle* BA hahahahaha HA! Nu-unh, sweetheart. Not me. I’ll be the one with 12 shots of rum in her Starbucks hot chocolate, greeting people with a big spank on the ass and a broad, cheesy wink. OK maybe not when my husband’s looking, but the minute he turns his back, you’re all fair game.

AJ’s Near-Famous, Droolworthy Apple Crisp Recipe
It’s cold out, and it’s rainy, and icky, and depressing, and you need something warm and sweet and comforting that isn’t too terrible to eat, especially if you’re on a diet like me. You may ask yourself, ‘when she’s not eating door-to-door salesman-kabobs, what does a horror writer nosh while she’s plotting yet another gory murder scene?’ Welp, here’s my modified apple crisp recipe for you. I hope you enjoy.
5-7 apples, peeled, in slices (any kind, but I love tart Granny Smith apples)
sprinkle lemon juice
1/4 tsp cinnamon mixed with 1/2 tsp Splenda
optional: 1/2 cup raisins or dried cranberries
crumble topping
1/2 cup Splenda brown sugar
1/3 cup flour
1 cup oatmeal
1/4 cup oat bran
1 tsp cinnamon
1/3 cup melted butter
Season apples with lemon juice and sprinkle with the cinnamon/Splenda blend, place in greased pan. Prepare crumble topping and cover the apples. Bake at 350 F for 45 minutes, and enjoy! Easy peasy.
(Editor’s note: AJ Aalto is blamelessly deranged, and should be institutionalized as soon as her signings are done. If she is not, she can in no way be held responsible for her actions. Also: she needs someone to buy her these gloves–I’m talking to you, stalkers. You want my love? Shit like this is your way in! I can be bought! Look, I want em so badly, I forgot to talk in the third person. Buy me these. BUY THEM.Kthnx.)
How in the world are you going to kick the clowns in the gonads? You would have to get close to them to do that. See you at the end of Oct. I can’t wait to get my hardcover copy.
Uhh, you’re manic when you write those posts aren’t you? Haha, congrats on the signings! YOU’RE GOING PLACES, WOMAN!!! I am happy for you. I am also happy for the poor gonad-less clowns… or wait, that wasn’t it. Oh well. KNOCK ‘EM DEAD… not literally though. *scared for the poor chaps*
And oh!!! I wish I could get to a signing to get the book and then read it and gush about it on twitter. 😀
